Manchester International Festival
29 June – 29 July
MIF is the world’s very first and very best festival of original, new work and special events. This summer long spectacle graces the city only once every two years and displays unique performances, outstanding musical guests and sumptuous street food; bringing out the very best of Manchester. The festival spans a whole month so come back multiple days in June and July to see something wonderfully different each trip. This is not one to be missed.

This summer, outdoor theatre experts, Heartbreak Productions are making their way to Manchester with a fresh and vibrant interpretation of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. If you are unfamiliar with the premise; Everyone wants to marry Bianca yet no suitor can be found for her sister, the fiery and independent, Kate. Until Petruchio, a gamester on the make who to their surprise, declares a most extraordinary courtship. In an electric clash of the sexes, this story of a mismatched and combative couple comes to life with this talented team’s arsenal of music, humour, and audience interaction.
